In Armenia, I follow a few women in their village where 90% of the men have left to work in Russia. Most come back to spend winter holidays at home, but some have never returned. In similar rural and particularly conservative places, women talk to the outside world only when they are very desperate, because typically, they are brought up to be patient and not to complain about their lives.
